Linnea Sinclair's Cyber-Launch Book Party

***8/26/08 - Unfortunately, the comments (the party itself) didn't survive transfer to the new blog.*** .
Cyber-Launch: LINNEA SPEAKS!!! Good morning, Blog Buddies, and welcome to the first Cyber-Launch Book Party on this humble blog! If all goes well, I hope to do this whenever a Blog Buddy has a new book out. Gwyneth Bolton’s SWEET SENSATION is up next week, then Susan Grant and Holly Kennedy. I think I get a rest until August after them. To add to the fun of today’s event, a drawing will be done of all those who comment under this blog’s entry. The winner of that drawing will receive a t-shirt with the book’s cover art on it and the phrase, “My name is No-No Bad Captain. What’s yours?” I know I got to have one for myself, but I won’t be entering since I’m hosting. I’m going to leave the Cyber-Launch up today and all of tomorrow. The drawing will be held the night of March 2nd and the winner will be informed by the following day, providing I can reach you through your usersname! The following are some questions I came up with and some answers Linnea provided:>I asked: Can you share the journey you took in creating GAMES OF COMMAND? What inspired you? How did your characters reveal themselves? There were about 20 poems in all that told a complete story. The novellete in verse told the story of Tazriel's encounter with the Vaxxar in an aborted hi-jacking attempting (read the prologue of GAMES OF COMMAND and you'll see how that story morphed.)From there I took the incidents in verse and translated them to narrative in various and sundry adventures of Tazriel, now 'Sass' and Branden. One of those adventures was reweritten to be FINDERS KEEPERS. Does that surprise you?Other adventures had Sass and Branden in differing conflicts that throw them together.I know I'm getting away from your question, but I wanted you to know there's no easy answer to the journey of GAMES OF COMMAND, rather the journey of the two main characters.>I asked: What experience to dyou hope your readers will take away most from reading GAMES OF COMMAND?Deeper than that, I hope they fall in love with Sass and the admiral, and Serafino and Eden as I have. I hope they want furzels of their own. I hope they recommend the book to a friend who just wants a good, fun SFR read. Or a good fun read, period.***Thank you so much, Linnea!!!***Well, I know I want my own furzel. GAMES OF COMMAND by Linnea Sinclair is out right now! Should be in all the bookstores and can certainly be purchased on-line at Amazon.com, as well as Borders and Barnes & Noble on-line bookstores. For more information on Linnea Sinclair and her novels, visit her at www.linneasinclair.com You will find links to her MySpace account and a multi-author blog entitled Alien Romance.
